Albuquerque Ford dealer Don Chalmers is happy to announce the arrival of the all new 2010 Ford Taurus. If you’ve been waiting for the new Ford Taurus make stop by our Albuquerque area Ford dealer in Rio Rancho, NM and check out the new features the 2010 Ford Taurus has to offer.
The 2010 Taurus is powered by a standard 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 263 hp and 249 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard. On all trims except the SE, the transmission features manual shift control and downshift rev-matching capability. Front-wheel drive is standard on every Taurus trim level and all-wheel drive is available on SEL and Limited trim levels.
The 2010 Ford Taurus is a full-size sedan that seats five people. It is available in SE, SEL, Limited and SHO trim levels. Standard equipment on the SE includes 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, keyless entry and SecuriCode entry pad, full power accessories, cruise control, a six-way power driver seat, a 60/40 split-folding rear seat, a tilt-and-telescoping steering column, steering wheel audio controls and a six-speaker stereo with CD/MP3 player and auxiliary audio jack. The SEL adds 18-inch wheels, automatic transmission paddle shifters, heated side mirrors, dual-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, upgraded cloth upholstery and satellite radio.
Options on the SEL include 19-inch wheels, rear parking sensors, a power passenger seat, ambient lighting, leather upholstery and the Sync electronics interface system (which includes Bluetooth and an iPod interface). These items are standard on the Taurus Limited, plus 10-way power front seats, driver memory functions and an upgraded stereo with six-CD/MP3 player. The Taurus SHO adds a more powerful engine, a sport-tuned suspension, xenon headlamps, an auto-dimming exterior driver mirror (optional on Limited), a rear spoiler, keyless ignition/entry (optional on SEL and Limited), upgraded leather trim and faux-suede upholstery inserts.
The available class-exclusive* BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross Traffic Alert is yet another new innovation available on the 2010 Ford Taurus. When a vehicle enters the blind spot zone, an indicator light provides a warning in the outside mirror corresponding to the side from which the vehicle is approaching. The Cross Traffic Alert feature uses blind spot monitoring sensors to audibly and visually alert you to impending traffic while slowly backing out of a driveway/parking spot and another vehicle is approaching from either side. BLIS with Cross Traffic Alert is optional on Taurus Limited and SHO models.
Get directions, information on traffic backups, even gas prices across Albuquerque, NM. The available new voice-activated Navigation System with integrated class-exclusive* SIRIUS Travel Link™** on the 2010 Taurus combines Global Positioning System (GPS) technology with 3-D mapping to provide turn-by-turn voice guidance. But that’s only for starters. System features include: • Current, local gas prices • Traffic backups with alternate routes • Current and forecasted weather • Movie listings, including theater locations, show times and ratings • Scores for major sports teams • DVD movie viewing on navigation screen when the vehicle is in Park • Bird’s-eye map view with six adjustable angle settings • Saves destinations, provides the shortest route, reroutes you if you miss your turn • 10GB digital jukebox with voice-controlled access to music files • Personal photo upload capability

Albuquerque Ford buyers have helped the Ford F-150 truck experience tremendous sales growth over the past few years and Don Chalmers Ford says the F-150 is one of their best selling models. The F150 has been the number 1 selling truck in the USA for the past 32 years, and Ford is looking to make it 33.
The F series truck is recognized as being the only pickup to earn both the government’s top five-star crash test ratings and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s top safety award. In addition to safety, drivers love the trucks fuel economy, which can be as high as 15 mpg city/21 mpg highway and 17 mpg combined for an F-150 2WD SuperCrew.
Albuquerque Ford buyers appreciate the awards and accolades the F150 has received over the years. The F150 is the winner of the J.D. Power and Associates IQS (Initial Quality Study) and APEAL (Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout) awards for Light-Duty Pickups, the Motor Trend Truck of the Year™, and was named American Truck of the Year at the 2009 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS).

New Mexico Ford Dealer Don Chalmers is proud to announce the latest quality study to the overall Ford lineup. The news release will surely have all New Mexico Ford vehicle owners smiling.
Results from J.D. Power and Associates most recent quality study shows all Ford Motor Company brands improved in the J.D. Power and Associates 2009 Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study(SM). This may be because Ford is listening to customers and using this feedback to steer its product design and engineering.
APEAL is the industry’s top study measuring what customers like about the performance, execution, and layout of their new vehicle after the first three months it is in service. Customer’s rate their level of delight on a variety of vehicle attributes, including safety, fuel economy, cargo space and roominess, exterior styling and price. This year’s study is based on survey responses from owners of 2009 model-year vehicles.
The Ford brand improves by 17 index points to move up six rank positions among nameplates from last year. The company’s Lincoln brand improves 18 index points and moving up two spots from last year. Mercury improves by eight index points and Volvo improves by two index points.
These results were helped by the strong performance of the company’s all-new and newly redesigned vehicles including the Ford Flex and F-150 (tie) – both taking home segment awards. The Ford Flex and F-150 scored better than the segment average in every category, performing especially well in the areas of fuel economy and audio/entertainment/navigation. F-150 improved 52 index points from last year. F-150 is also the highest ranked large pickup in initial quality in a tie.
To score higher in customer satisfaction, Ford is changing the way it defines quality. The company is not only delivering vehicles with fewer defects, but it is also putting greater emphasis on features that appeal most to customers.
“At Ford, we are accelerating the development of vehicles customers will fall in love with at first sight and grow even fonder of over time.” said Derrick Kuzak, group vice president, Product Development. “To deliver on that promise, our goal is nothing less than product excellence in design, feature content, safety and quality—all at an exceptional value.”
