The Edge comes with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that offers great acceleration. It’s paired with an automatic six-speed transmission. According to the EPA, the FWD Edge achieves 17/24 mpg city/highway, while the AWD model achieves 15/22 mpg. Safety wise, the federal government has given the Ford Edge excellent scores in both frontal and side crash tests.  The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety names the Ford Edge as the “Top Safety Pick.”
